Long story short, I thought one day I would become a State Senator. I vigorously studied international relations, sat on our Model United Nations Mock team, went and worked for various congressmen, as well as working for a Member of Parliament in London. Then in London, I realized (during 9/11) that this wasn't what I wanted to do. So what does a 3rd year college student do when they realize what they are studying isn't what they want to do in life?
I became a temp.
I started working in various offices trying to decide what I wanted to do. Then one day I received a call to work at a Construction Company. I declined, but after about a half an hour I received another call to please show up because there was no else to cover. So I did...and you know what is was a divine appointment. There I worked, there I became a project assistant, there I met my husband, there I step stoned into working for a large southern California general contracting company and worked on several projects as an Assistant Project Manager. From Construction I decided to go back to school and study Interior Design. Loved it!
So today I am a stay at home mom, but my passion is Interior Decorating and Construction Management. I love the frills, but I also enjoy a great negotiation with a General Contractor. I keep myself busy by helping our Church with their remodel, helping friends with table settings, and enjoying the creativity of scrapbooking.
So maybe it wasn't that short but...
